Fun & Interesting News

I mean, when it comes to utter uselessness they both could have won an award there; interview guy just took off his necklace and showed it to her while she was underwater. :rofl

I've often said learning Petrucci and Gilbert songs (even if I can't seem to get past ~80% of the real tempo) is my own personal way of keeping my brain in shape. Some people do crossword puzzles; I like to practice technical prog guitar.

My memory isn't slipping in the least (just turned 60.) I routinely juggle lots of moving parts at work, and still seem catch all the details. And I pulled out a DT song last night that I hadn't practiced in several weeks, and after a couple run-throughs, it came right back to me.

I have other health issues, but my cognitive function seems to be fine. Knock on wood...

All The Mr. Crabbypants around here can rejoice!! Ok, not rejoice.... but take
delight in your cynicism. Ok, maybe delight is too strong. How about feel
reassured that being such a dour nanny pants is actually goood for you,
if not for anyone around you?? That'll do.

Not quite sure about it being "Fun and Interesting" tho. Or even "News" with the Plato and 19th C references.

But I did find this: https://www.technologyreview.com/20...-a-mysterious-covid-case-back-to-six-toilets/

Nearly every second around the globe weather reports are considered to be "news" worthy, even
though we have had weather every day humans have been conscious enough to recognize and report
it to one another. :idk

Also, "interesting." To me. :clint

I personally found it interesting that Plato criticized the new technology of writing because he
assumed it would impair memory. He was likely correct in that regard. To a degree. My fave from the
article was the notion that women riding bicycles would deprive them of their "femininity." All of
that independence from riding a bicycle would go on to inspire them to push for equal voting rights
a few decades later. So whoever said that had some of their worst fears come true. Thankfully.
